Building the brands, businesses and platforms of a digitising Africa — where strategy, technology and story meet.
Coming from a media background, Ndaba Lungu learned early that attention is earned, not owed. A decade on radio and television — presenting, producing, holding a live room — taught him the discipline that now sits under everything he makes: understand the person on the other end, or lose them.
That instinct grew into an unusually wide range. He moves fluently across brand and marketing strategy, creative direction, digital transformation, marketing technology and the enterprise platforms and AI tools that bring them to life. He is as comfortable shaping a positioning line as he is architecting a customer journey or briefing a build — a rare span from the idea to the interface.
It's a range earned in the work. He has directed creative and shaped brand and digital for UNICEF, ActionAid, Standard Bank, The Presidency, the City of Johannesburg, the Intra-African Trade Fair, Hollard and FDH Bank, and built consumer brands from a blank page that still sit on shelves today. Different clients, different scales — the same job each time: make what an organisation means impossible to ignore.
Today he is Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Sync.Africa, a multinational digital firm. He owns the strategic offering end to end and turns client briefs into the strategy, creative and technology the studio delivers.
The broadcast training never left. He hosts and moderates panels and masterclasses on digital transformation, African technology and entrepreneurship — TEDx among them — bringing a live presenter's timing to the kind of conversation most rooms let drift.
His focus now runs to the frontier: digital transformation, e-commerce and digital money for the unbanked, and the partnerships that scale them. Closest to his heart is Digital University Africa — Sync's initiative to train young Africans in real digital skills, aiming to reach one million learners by 2040. A young continent, he argues, cannot afford to be an untrained one.
Understand people. Build the right thing. Tell the story so it lands. Let's build something.
